Most people know about this tech, but some people don't. I really like this technique because of how well you can play mind games with it. Jump and air dodge immediately. You will do a very very short hop and land back down on the ground. This is helpful if your charging and opponent, if he goes to the wall, or if your mixing it in your attacks. When I was using it, my opponents have attacked too early and allowed me to get an opening, allowing me to dodge a dash attack and lead into another attack, or even messing up walls. I personally have found it very helpful and call it Timing . I believe if it's explored more, maybe it could become a type of Wave Dash for this game.
Pros: Faster than just down dodging. Has no delay on land. A short hop. Mind games. Can dodge attacks as well.
Cons: You cannot move while your short hopping sadly . More for 1v1 use.

Timing (or instant air dodge (IAD) which I prefer since it very clearly describes what it is) is very effective because it is the one true way to defend yourself against throws and attacks at the same time. Very much like the spotdodge of Brawl in that it protects you from all attacks for a short duration of time but providing no movement.
