Totally agree with CTK on this one. I'm usually die hard Nintendo, but I want to see this thing as an absolute step up from the Wii, not just a kind of sideways shift or something, lol.
The "hardcore" games announcements are a very good start. It's a ray of hope, though one must also hope that controller expenses won't kill everyone. That sucker is loaded.

Wait, what? Only one of the new Wii U controllers? That's.... Stupid. Seriously. Why cant we have a thing like Four Swords Adventures again?

Hmm... I read it as: "You won't be able to buy another separate Wii U controller".
Not "you won't be able to plug in more than 1 controller".
I might be wrong though.

I kind of expected that. Also saves a bunch of money. If someone had a Wii previously, you could just use the controllers you had on that without having to buy new controllers.
I bad feeling I have now though is the new Smash Bros...with no Gamecube compatibility, there will be no GC controller usage...

I'm trying to get better used to the Wii+Chuck combination. Well, luckily I've been good at that scheme for a big while now, granted it's not my personal favorite, but it's a close second. Classic Controller on the other hand just feels wrong. Maybe they'll start releasing Cube USB controllers? Hopefully. (And hopefully cheaper and better too, because GCN controllers get damaged easily)

Switch to the Classic Controller pro, I like using it.

Don't get me wrong, I can live without it...its just I have tried most of the other controller schemes. I'm one of those "x/y to jump" people, and pressing up on the D-pad for the Wiimote or C/Up on the Joystick for the Nunchuck doesn't feel right to me. The normal classic controller I find to be better than those, but I usually have to edit my controls to make it work out better for throws/dodging.
Still have yet to try it with the Pro though.

I honestly believe that Nintendo will make a new design based on the Gamecube controller for games like Smash Bros. and Wii games that were GC Controller compatable.

Wii U is a day-one buy for me, it already has 23 games for launch or launch window. Plus, there are three Wii U games being kept secret, I wonder what those are? maybe today or tomorrow we will find out. By the way, it's been announced that all Virtual Console and Wii Ware games you have on your Wii can be transferred to your Wii U, so that's another plus for me. Oh, and two GamePads can be used (just in case some of you didn't see the conference).

The Wii U is looking better all the time, it's interesting to read the comments we had last year and compare them with what we know now. I was thrilled by some of the gameplay footage we've seen, it's about time Nintendo joined the high defination age!

Yeah, I was looking at past comments too. I agree with you, but I still think Nintendo needs to show us some surprises, hopefully those 3 games are unveiled soon!!!

Maybe I'm the only one here who wasn't really happy with the line up. But that's ok, to each their own. I mean, I expected some sort of retro-revival like Punch Out a couple of years ago, or Pilot Wings, or Kid Icarus. The closest I got was a Nazo no Murasame minigame in Nintendo land. I'll get a 3DS before a Wii U, that's for sure, but I'll wait for a version that has an XL screen. I like my handheld gaming getting bigger screens now! To update certain things: -You can "connect" up to TWO Wii U gamepads. -There are Wii U game pad "pro" without the screen. -Backward compatibility with Wii controllers (meaning Classic and Classic Pro can still be used). So it's not all hope that's been lost for Smash Bros fans. Perhaps someday they'll release a Wii U gamepad controller CUBE edition.

I didn't really like it either. Nothing that was shown really made me excited for anything. NintendoLand looks a little cool, I guess. I haven't played the first 2 Pikmins so I can't say much about 3, and the rest were basically ports.
