I know. I got sick the moment I heard about it. Literally. I've been praying every day since the shooting for the families of those lost.
All in all though? I kinda wish that guy didnt shoot himself. I really want to give him what he deserves... It wouldnt be pretty. Trust me on this. You dont kill. Especially defenseless little elementary kids... You just dont...

It was horrible, I almost cried when I was hearing the different stories involving this, and I don't cry very much, it was very very sad. And that is why I am opposed to guns.

I don't mean to cause an argument, but guns never cause any of this, it's the person who is holding the gun. One can be as opposed to guns as one wants to be, even try to make certain laws that prohibit the use of guns, but that won't stop criminals from getting access to them, and it makes people who use them solely to defend themselves defenseless. It's the mind, not the tool. In my opinion, anyways.

Yeah, it is the mind, people in the United States are very paranoid fearful individuals, and so what do they turn to? guns, because they are present. It is guns as well, just watch the documentary Bowling for Columbine and it may even change your opinion. It's on Netflix. By the way, I don't know why people in the USA defend guns so much, just let them go, what are they necessary for, hunting? defending oneself? ironic how a gun intended to be for defense against robbers (who might not even be armed) turned out to be a weapon of child massacring. Outlaw guns period. If criminals obtain them, then it's death row for them, because remember: if mass production of guns is stopped in its totality, then criminals will not have them! so why should somebody want to have a gun to defend against an unarmed criminal? there are other ways to defend oneself. it's as easy as that to instill fear into those criminals. But no, it will never happen, they love their precious guns, no matter how many babies (hypothetically) get killed by them.

Even if guns are outlawed, it will still be easy for a criminal to get them. We have already outlawed drugs and there are still thousands of people, including teens, that use them everyday and are addicted to it. We are bordered by a country in the south that is practically controlled by a cartel that makes their money through drug and gun trafficking. Even if guns aren't available, criminals could still look up how to make a homemade bomb on the Internet seeing as they are really easy to make. In fact, my dad, who is a cop at a high school by the way, confiscated some student's notebook that contained blueprints/instructions for making a bomb!
All the banning of guns will do is make the civilians completely defenseless and automatically make criminals the victor.

There have been plenty of killings without guns too---, even if guns were wiped from existence(theoretically speaking), other methods would be found and those that are criminally insane/mentally unstable will still do terrible things. Mass Production of guns would still occur anyways, due to military, police, etc.. Like Vid said regarding drugs, people will still find a way. Prevent the military and police from using guns as well? Stop guns from being here at all? Then we lie absolutely defenseless, and other countries can come and take us on a whim, it's not like they are going to just stop using guns. This is the kind of world we live in. I won't deny the fact its a dangerous tool, but more negative things would occur if guns were outlawed.

Well, yeah you're both right to an extent and I respect your opinions. But if I was president, I would immediately take action against guns no matter the consequences, I mean, come on! this has been the last straw, seriously.

I am actually with Axt on this one. I hate guns. Period. My opinion? If you're gonna fight, dont rely on a ranged weapon. Have some guts and honor. Get up in their face and at least use a melee weapon.
But, as said by Vid and DDD, we cant just get rid of them. If we did outlaw them to citizens in the entire US, what's to stop a corrupt official from selling them? From the police, the military... Or even the mysterious 'black market.' There are just too many ways to obtain illegal things in this world.
In order to outlaw them reasonably, EVERY SINGLE nation would have to ban them. And repossess their guns. Every single one. And that definitely wont happen without another World War, which'll cause more deaths than you can imagine. Especially because of how many nukes will be flying through the air. How many does the USA have currently? I've lost count. And that's just one nation. Just imagine how many there are in the world.
The real question is this. Why was technology even invented in the first place? Sure it helps us ALOT with every day tasks. But every single piece of tech also brought how many drawbacks? How hard do we work today, compared to caveman days? Think about it. Really. Think about it. The cavemen didnt have work schedules most likely. They did what was needed, when it was needed. Nw we work for eight straight hours almost every single day. Technology is both a gift and a curse. Sometimes, even though I love having computers and portable cellphones, I do wish we had never invented such things.

Yes, I agree, Scruffy, completely. Sometimes I just wish the apocalypse would have really happened, instead of having to suffer through the insanity that occurs in this world, specially for the children. It's sad how everything you can think of, that you can imagine and have never heard before, no matter how horrible and shocking it may be, exists in this world.
