Barring character roster, and character balancing of course, what would you add/remove/fix to the already present Smash Up build if you were involved with a hypothetical sequel?
I think there are a few tibids that should be addressed to make the gameplay experience much better.
1.- Menu navigation:
Wether to not copy Brawl or something, the menu navigation is quite confusing (and despite me playing this game almost every day, it still is). From picking up opponents for you to play against, to choosing team members, etc. We should navigate the menu in the same fashion that Brawl does, with a cursor where you can point and click what you would like to change.
2.- Choose songs
Smash Up's soundtrack wasn't half bad! I only wish I could choose what songs I want to play on specific levels, kinda like My Music feature from Brawl.
3.- Raise some gravity
Now, it's kind of a guilty pleasure to me to fight with Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon's physics, but I admit it kinda looks akward no matter what Turtles universe you're a fan of. Combat would be faster paced if you would jump and drop faster and lower. (Don't mind the high jumps, just make them FASTER!)
4.- More Tag Team features?
Tag Team was a great idea, and outside the box thinking (from the source material at least) so I would implement more Tag Team features (aka, moves or even a party of 3-4 characers).
5.- Nerf pole diving:
I know this can be fixed by not having poles, but... they're kind of fun. They're just sorta cheap in how they penetrate your guard.
6.- Better online
(just because it's never good enough, lol)
7.- Customization options
Wether skins, or create your own costumes for the Turtles and co. I think customization would be a great way of adding a good ammount of variety to the game.
8.- A 3rd attack button
Because Diagonal attacks are akward, and hard to pull without the right controllers (I'm aware that the Wiimote wouldn't allow for a 3rd attack button, but you get my drift). I think the 2 diagonal moves and the Forward+B moves could easily translate into an Attack Button 3. For example... April:
C+down: Spin attack (formerly diagonal+back+up+B)
C+up: Backflip (formerly diagonal+back+up+A)
C: Elbow+stab (formerly forward+B)
Easier to keep track, easier to perform.
I think that's it from me. What do you guys think? Anything
